My name is Andrew Gingerich. I was born in Colorado. Ever since the age of ten, I've been making movies.
As a director, I have made two feature films, a handful of music videos, and too many short films to count, some of which have been seen by other people. I am the co-founder of Exploding Goldfish Films, LLC.
Every film I make is an experiment in some way—a movie isn't worth making if its outcome is a sure thing, and I'm proud to say that I've made some real stinkers. That's how I get better at what I do.
I am a narrative director, and I find performance to be of utmost importance. I spend a lot of time working with actors, helping them craft dimensional characters that are both believable and surprising.
I love making movies. I used to feel a bit embarrassed saying that, but I think what's missing from a lot of movies today is joy. I will keep making movies as long as that is what I love to do. I hope you like them.
